PRODUCT CATEGORY

Products for exteriors

Waterborne coatings ensure a drastic reduction in solvent emissions. Through the reduction in water absorption and protection from the sun’s radiation, OECE waterborne coatings can also provide several advantages in outdoor resistance. To offer good resistance, OECE products have been formulated with an optimal dose of UV absorbers and the addition of free radical captors: the former reduce wood yellowing and lignin destruction, while the latter considerably increase the film’s durability outdoors, reducing any chalking and loss of brightness, while increasing the effectiveness of the UV absorbers. OECE waterborne coatings provide good elasticity, high resistance to blocking, good vertical hold and excellent flow.
Synthetic products for exterior use are normally made with long-oil alkyd resins. Featuring excellent application conditions, frost resistance, initial gloss, non-blocking, chemical resistance, reduced grain raising, they are suitable for application on all wood types, with excellent value for money.

WATER-BASED FOR INTERIOR

When coating interior furnishings, the aesthetic result is crucial. OECE waterborne coatings look and feel exactly like those obtained with solvent-based products, providing the same level of mechanical strength and chemical resistance as two-pack polyurethane finishes.
To protect the environment and the health of those who come into contact with the products, furniture needs to be coated in an eco-friendly manner, with the lowest possible emission of solvents, both during the coating process and during the next release phase that often ends in homes, using products that contain a minimum amount of harmful substances.

Polyurethanes

The extensive range of OECE polyurethane base and topcoats cater to all manner of furniture coating needs with excellent aesthetic results, high mechanical strength, chemical resistance, quick drying properties and extremely short working times.
OECE polyurethane coatings are suitable for finishing furniture on an industrial scale and, to date, they are the most commonly used for coating chairs, frames, cabinet doors, joinery, wood flooring and furniture in general.
Polyurethane coatings consist of one base part and one hardener, designed to be mixed in given amounts immediately prior to use and then cure by chemical reaction. Polyurethane base and topcoat products offer exceptional elasticity, quick drying properties, good bonding and UV stability. They are particularly versatile and can be applied with a whole range of different coating systems: spray gun, curtain coating, airless, electrostatic and automatic systems.

Nitrocellulose

These products form a film simply through the evaporation of solvents. They feature rapid drying, surface hardness, easy preparation and application, good bonding, excellent appearance and film smoothness. Simple thinning is all that’s required for effortless application on both open-pore and closed-pore woodwork using a whole host of different application systems with excellent aesthetic results. Their use brings out the natural qualities of the wood used.

Red-ox polyesters

High-fill redox polyesters are used, above all, in gloss-finish systems, such as yacht and boat interiors.

ACID CURED

Two-pack products with good value mainly used in the interior furniture sector.

UV curable

Polyesters or acrylic coatings for industrial use, water- or solvent-based. The main advantages in using UV-cured varnishes are: high production speeds, space saving, coatings with very long or unlimited pot life, low or zero solvent emissions into the air.
In the curing of varnishes, UV radiation is absorbed by special substances called photoinitiators, which absorb UV ray energy, triggering a chain reaction within the varnish and allowing for a very fast polymerisation process.

Pigments, colorants and stains

Pigmented pastes, soluble and insoluble stains, designed to produce the desired colour shade. Pigmented topcoats hide the substrate completely, insoluble stains provide a somewhat uniform finish but without hiding the substrate completely, while soluble stains allow the wood grain to show through.

Additives, oils and others

These products are used to correct or optimise coatings. Oils are products of a synthetic nature, easy to use, excellent for revitalising the wood of furniture and flooring and restoring gloss, bringing out the natural grain and producing a unique effect.

Thinners

Utilizzati per portare il prodotto verniciante alla giusta viscosità di applicazione e/o per modulare la rapidità di essiccazione.
